Steps to Success
Steps to Success was launched in October, 2007, by the African American Male Initiative. The program serves second-, third- and fourth- grade African American males of Harlem by providing the following services:
1) A Life Coach, functioning as a mentor, who inspires boys to have dreams and helps them develop ways to fulfill their goals.
3) Academic support, twice a week after school.
4) Positive Black male volunteers, who are positive role models, staff our volunteer component.
In addition, Life Coaches support each family by helping parents navigate the many daunting challenges involved in raising an African American male.
